For those who know me or follow my adventures, my full name is Roanna Sabeh-Azar — Canadian-born, of Middle Eastern descent, and, as I like to say, a Mayan soul.
My journey has always been driven by creativity and connection. My first venture, AZAR Trading, began in Mexico as an import/export company. That evolved into a boutique on Bellair Avenue, and later a first-of-its-kind concept store and café in Yorkville.
Then came Neo-Paws International, the world’s first orthopedic running shoe company for dogs and other animals. Shortly after, I was invited to host ENTRADA: Journeys Through Latin American Cuisine — a 26-part TV series that aired internationally and deepened my love for Latin culture, food, and people.
During one of my visits to Huatulco, while brainstorming the name for the resort, I asked my architect what “Azar” meant in Spanish. To my surprise, he said it translates to “luck.” Intrigued, I looked it up myself — and discovered that El AZAR goes one step further, meaning “protected by God.”
That moment sealed it. The name was already written in my destiny.
And so, El AZAR Huatulco was born — a modern, eco-luxury resort built on faith, gratitude, and a deep connection to nature.
Building in Mexico has been a leap of faith — my first ground-up project — but I’m all in. I’m creating a space where people can feel free, inspired, and at peace.
So pack your bags and join me in Huatulco, baby! 🏖️
Swim in the pool, stroll or run along the beach, explore the trails and neighboring bays. Play beach volleyball, tetherball, pickleball, badminton — or practice yoga, meditate, pray, and simply be. Cook, eat, drink, laugh, and listen to the ocean waves as they kiss the shore.
We look forward to welcoming you to El AZAR Huatulco, and sharing the joy, beauty, and serenity of this magical place.
Because here, you are — and always will be — protected by God.
From the golden hills of Temecula to the turquoise shores of Oaxaca, Roanna Sabeh-Azar creates spaces where design, nature, and human connection live in harmony. Each property reflects her belief that true luxury is found not only in beauty, but in the feeling of belonging — to the land, the light, and the moment.
At Angel Ranch Resort in Temecula, guests slow down among vineyards, olive trees, and mountain views. Days unfold around the pool, the laughter of friendly games, and shared meals cooked outdoors under endless California skies. It’s a sanctuary of calm, community, and golden sunsets.
Far to the south, along the beaches of Huatulco, Mexico, El AZAR embodies modern coastal elegance — minimalist white villas crafted from natural materials, open to the ocean breeze. Here, guests reconnect with the rhythm of nature through yoga, starlit evenings, and the gentle sound of the Pacific.
Together, Angel Ranch and El AZAR are more than destinations — they are experiences born from Roanna’s vision of effortless living, where every space invites rest, inspiration, and joy. Whether beneath Temecula’s vineyards or beside the sea in Huatulco, each stay is an invitation to breathe deeply, live beautifully, and feel at home in the world.
For Roanna, creating spaces like Angel Ranch and El AZAR is about more than hospitality — it’s about connection. Each property is an expression of her belief that beautiful environments can restore the spirit, inspire creativity, and bring people closer to nature and to one another.
Whether under Temecula’s golden sunsets or along Huatulco’s turquoise coast, her destinations invite guests to breathe deeply, live beautifully, and feel completely at home.
Thoughtfully built to flow with the land, light, and ocean breeze.
Every space feels personal — a home away from home.
Where comfort, beauty, and freedom come naturally.
Moments shared, memories made, and hearts restored.
